Weave Review: Sensationnel Premium Now

ok... i've been wearing weaves for about a year and a few months now. i've done all types of brands and styles but i have to say that THIS is my FAVORITE one. As far as beauty supply store hair, you won't find anything much better than this. Milky Way, Zury, Outre...are all good brands but I personally feel like this is the best of them all.

I've worn this brand of hair twice and, besides my remy, it has had the best longivity. My first install with this hair was in the beginning of September 2010 and I took it out around October 5. It could have lasted alot longer, but I wanted a longer length.

PRICING>>> the average price for this hair in beauty supply stores in Baton Rouge begins at about $32.99 for a 10 in. and of course the prices go up a few dollars with length.

With all of this being said, i rate this hair a 10 for its quality. Its not remy but its really, really close!

STORES IN BATON ROUGE THAT CARRY THIS HAIR
**Hair Connection on Florida Blvd.
**Dream Beauty Supply on N. Foster
**Beauty Supply Warehouse on Florida Blvd.
(may be other places also, but those are ones i know for sure)

MINI product haul, skin care regimen, hair updates blah blah blah :)

ooook so i havent been on in a while. sucks that i dont have any followers but i like this as a online hair and beauty journal. soooo firstly, i went on a mini product haul [[yaay]] to treat my hair to some new goodies. i always wanted to try some paul mitchell Tea Tree conditioner, you know, to give my scalp that tingly feeling. So i wander off in Sally's and i DONT see the p. mitch, but i DO see GVP--compare to paul mitchell's Green Tea blah blah blah. i honestly don't mind the price of a product, but the quality. however, the GVP brand was only 10.00, as compared to p mitch's that is 23.00. So i purchased that AND the GVP generic brand of p. mitch's "Thicken up" [simply because i like using a thickening serum on my hair before blow drying]. So im gonna give it a go on tomorrow and rate it. NEXT i went to dollar general and decided to pick up on some Suave Tropical Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner. Im a sucker for a thick, creamy, milky looking product because idk, it just looks quite moisturizing. Plus, on the bottle it says "2x moisture" so we're gonna see about all of that.

skin cccaaaarreeee..something i always hadn't been a fan of but, im gonna give this thing a try. as a teen, i've always had acne which lead to facial scarring [those ugly black marks]and i've decided to go ahead and try something to um...work this out. So while at walmart yesterday, I picked up on a few things. Well, I previously had the Clean and Clear Acne Face Wash which does quite well for me. I purchased Biore 3 in 1 astrigent and Clean and Clear Dual Moisturizer. I use those products, in order as listed, twice a day. I'm going to try this out for 6 weeks. so today is my official start day, and my end day is February 8.

hair updates! sooo i took my sew in out like december 11 and relaxed my hair but i underprocessed it which SUCKS. but anyways, so long to box relaxers. my dad is a barber, and suggested that i UPGRADE to mizani. im really looking forward to it, because i always wanted to go with a professional relaxer. however i'm debating on relaxing my hair or putting in another sew in. if i do another sew in, i will do it next thursday or friday on the 8. not sure though. i dont wanna relax too soon, and with this sew in, i might not leave any of my hair out and do a bang. decisions, decisions.

thats all for now, more later. xoxo

fall 2010 trend: taupe nails

ok...i have the taupe boots, sweaters, etc. and i'm feeling allll ready for the season! personally speaking, i've always wanted a taupe-like nail polish. although i know that OPI has the best polishes for every season, i was definitely not looking forward to spending $9 on a shade. While grazing the beauty isles at wal-mart, i found EXACTLY what i was looking for. check it out:

Pure Ice: Taupe Drawer... 2.50, walmart stores :)

sewwwww- in ;)

im uber-excited to post this...finally. thanksgiving/bayou classic was this past weekend, and i wanted to do something different with my hair. i wanted to do something all the way new...something that was, idk, "trendy". so...i looked to the DASH sisters for total inspiration. here's the look:

I used Milky Way Que in a 12 inch, and it was only $14.99, and Sensationnel Premium Now Yaki in a 10 inch, which was $32.99. Now, please believe me, they are definitely different in quality, which is why i totally understand the price difference. Milky Way Que is good, but NOT for a long term weave. I've had great experiences with Sensationnel though. I did a previous sew in and it lasted 7 weeks. The hair wasnt bad;; it was just time for my natural hair to be relaxed, so it couldve gone even longer. Overall, I definitely like the style and it served the purpose. Next style...? who knows!!! ;)

To Catch Up....~*

Being that I am in school, I've been gone for a really long time {nursing school will have you forgetting your own name sometimes} buuuut i'm back and I'm ready to share some awesome news. I cut my hair in June 2010... and i was devastated after I did it. The cut was cute, but I really missed my hair :(. So to implement, I just wore weaves for about two months straight. I took my hair down in August, and noticed that it was alot thicker than it was before the weaves. I then cut it all to the same length (which was EL at the time) and then continued to put weaves in for another two months. My last weave was in October and I was sooo pleased when I removed the weave this time{October 24}, relaxed and roller set, and my hair came out really nice. So since then, I've been washing and roller setting once a week, and I will be putting another weave in on Wednesday.
